FAQs

Injection moulding is the most commonly used method for mass producing plastic items due to factors such as speed of production, efficiency, low waste, durability and ease of handling of complex parts.

Injection moulding is the process used for producing high volume plastic parts to a given specification by injecting molten (liquid) thermoplastic into a ‘tool’ or ‘mould’, allowing it to cool to its solid structure.

Below is a brief overview of the injection moulding process:

  1. Design: Utilising computer-aided design (CAD) software to create a detailed 3D model of your desired part.

  2. Mould Preparation: Our experienced team constructs a precision-machined mould, meticulously crafted in two halves—an injection side and an ejector side—to achieve the exact shape and specifications you require.

  3. Material Selection: We carefully select the most suitable thermoplastic polymer, considering factors such as strength, flexibility, and appearance, to meet your part's specific requirements.

  4. Injection: The chosen plastic material, in pellet form, is melted within a heated barrel of our advanced injection moulding machines.

  5. Injection Phase: Under high pressure, the molten plastic is injected into the mould cavity through a nozzle, perfectly assuming the desired part shape.

  6. Cooling: The molten plastic cools and solidifies within the mould, conforming flawlessly to the mould cavity's precise contours. Cooling time is determined by the thickness and material properties of your part.

  7. Mould Opening: The mould halves separate, and an ejector system gently releases the finished part.

  8. Repeat: The process seamlessly repeats to produce multiple identical parts, ensuring consistent quality and reliability.

Injection moulding is a highly advanced manufacturing process that utilises the high-pressure injection of molten plastic into a mould cavity. As the plastic cools and solidifies, a finished plastic part is produced.

Injection moulding offers numerous advantages, including the ability to create intricate shapes, achieve high production efficiency, and maintain precise dimensional control across thousands or millions of components. It is widely utilised in the production of diverse plastic products, ranging from small intricate components to large automotive parts.
